Academic Activities and Announcements: June–December 2025

Masterclass at ISACON 2025: Neonatal Anesthesia

A 90-minute Masterclass on Neonatal Anesthesia was conducted on 29 November 2025 during the 72nd National Conference of the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists (ISACON 2025) held in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The masterclass was organized under the leadership of Dr Usha Saha (Lead Coordinator and President, NAS), along with Dr Pratibha Jain Shah, Dr Amrusha Raipure, Dr Thanigai Arasu, and Dr Sneha Dasharath Khobragade. The learning objectives focused on the basics and unique physiological aspects of newborns and neonates, the importance of maintaining a patent airway, effective ventilation and gas exchange, perioperative fluid therapy, monitoring, and Principles of Neonatal Resuscitation (PoNR). A total of 42 delegates registered for the masterclass. Industry partners Draeger and Tuoren participated by showcasing neonatal-specific workstations, video laryngoscopes, endotracheal tubes, IV cannulae, and infusion sets.

Guest Lecture

A guest lecture was conducted at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) with the participation of faculty members and clinicians from the Departments of Anaesthesiology and Paediatrics. The academic session was attended by Dr Nida Nawaz, Dr Deeba Khan, Dr Nadeem Raza, Dr Syed Hussain Amir, Dr Syed Kamran Habib, Prof Usha Saha, Dr Hammad Usmani, Dr Qazi Ehsan Ali, Dr Farah Nasreen, Dr Uzma Firdaus, Dr Nazia Tauheed, Dr Shahna Ali, Dr Abu Nadeem, Dr Obaid Ahmad Siddiqui, Dr Manazir Athar, and Dr Rehman Hyder, representing various academic and clinical roles across Anaesthesiology and Paediatrics at JN Medical College, AMU. The lecture facilitated academic exchange and interdisciplinary discussion, contributing to continued professional development and clinical excellence.
